Welcome

Welcome to the frugal tech’s website. Frugal is not being cheap but just getting the most out of the technology currently in the organization before purchasing high end technology. An example is an organization with five employees requiring email. Instead of purchasing Microsoft Exchange consider setting the users up with the free email accounts provided by the ISP or purchasing a domain name and using Google Applications or the email provided by the hosting account.

Technically savvy viewers are not required for using this website. Many people using technology do not have a technical background, but are just looking for answers to technical questions. An example might be how to clean up a driver in Windows. People already know to use disk cleanup, but where is it in Windows 7 Home Edition?

  1. Go to Start (Windows Menu Icon) -> Control Panel -> Performance Information and Tools.
  2. Click on Performance Information and Tools
  3. In the left, column menu press Open Disk Cleanup

When applicable, instructions will contain diagrams and figures. Instructions will also be written in the order to perform the steps with tips to make installation and usage easier for users. Hyper-links are provided to the software vendor’s website for deeper research or to obtain the product to ensure our viewers are able to obtain the latest software versions. However, no one is perfect, so please feel free to leave a comment or suggestion to improve the viewer’s experience.
